IKL's UK Stitch n BItch day!

It's taken me this long to collect my thoughts about what I want to say about the day- to express the deep level of excitement that gripped me all day long and the immense gratitude to G and C for organising such a phenomenal day.......Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! It was amazing- a fantastic day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There- thats what I think!
Here are some pictures:
My SnB experience started at 8.30 when I arrived and reported for duty and stamped some labels for Amy Lame's Pom Pom International - this was fun for me as I had always wanted to be a librarian and stamp books

After that I was on door duty and witnessed what can only be described as a semi-yarn-rabid throng of visitors queuing up. I gave them all programs to look at while they were waiting for the doors to open as I was scared of an uprising!

The queue grew and grew.....and grew..... and meandered all the way past the knitted river... Until the doors were opened and the yarn hungry mob charged through the doors. I perfected my ticket selling spiel and accompanying arm gestures which I used to indicate

a) if you wear your badge you can come and go as you please!
b)The toilets? Through the double doors, left and up the stairs!
c) No..... sorry there is no cloak room....
d) Please hand your ticket to Phil on the door.
(I later taught all I knew to Elly and I think she was eternally grateful!)

After a while I was curious to see what was going on inside - so many had flocked past me...

There were massses and masses and masses of people! I got scared and ran out to do the door and ticket sales again. Then I swapped and went and worked the IKL stand- with a pint of beer- and it was fantastic fun-

Here are two ladies looking at Pet Heaven- fantastic book- I think is is practical polly of wonder woman jumper fame. A celebrity on her blog at the moment. Talking of celebs... I mock- beatle mania- screamed at Debbie Stoller as she walked past me with Gerard and I think this is why she carried on walking and eyed me with near suspicion for the rest of the day!
I want to be a Shallac sister when I grow up!

I bought a ....

and was still looking at it in a frenzy of excitement at midnight. I took all the pages out until March and then thought had better put it away...

It was great to see Jenny, supermodel Mike (see fashion link in previous post) and Verity (her dad is an inventor ), Ellie and other knitting people I have met recently, although I did not have a coherent conversation with anyone all day as I was just too EXCITED!
That's all for now! Love to G and C for making the day happen- it was FABULOUS !!!!
